International Physical Theatre Project (Paid Opportunity)

We are seeking bold, versatile performers for a new international physical theatre project. Directed by Hannes Langolf and produced by Move To Move Festival, this paid opportunity will push the boundaries of text, movement, and improvisation, and is ideal for artists who thrive in collaborative, interdisciplinary environments.

 

We Are Looking For Performers Who:

  • Are any gender identity and in their 30s or older.

  • Are based in Europe or China.

  • Have strong physical theatre skills and a high level of body awareness.

  • Are experienced in text work (in English) and can integrate it seamlessly with movement and performance.

  • Excel in improvisation, with a sharp instinct for spontaneity and presence.

  • Are open to intensive, process-driven rehearsals and cultural exchange.

  • Speak English fluently (rehearsals will be conducted in English).

Project Details:

  • Rehearsal Blocks in Beijing, China:

    • 15 June – 25 July 2026

    • 17 August – 27 September 2026

  • Premiere: Move To Move Festival, 24–27 September 2026

  • Touring Dates: Additional performances in development for November/December 2026 (locations and exact dates to be confirmed).

Compensation & Logistics:

  • Competitive fee provided.

  • Travel, accommodation, and per diem included for the entire project timeframe.

Requirements:

  • Professional experience in physical theatre, dance, or related disciplines.

  • If availability is not 100% for all rehearsal periods, premiere, and potential touring dates, please include detailed availability information in your application.

How to Apply:

  1. A clear video of you performing choreographed, set movement (on stage or in the studio). This can be a short excerpt or a showreel.

  2. A short video (ca. 1:30 minutes) of a physical improvisation (including spoken text optional).

  3. A short video (ca. 1 minute) of you speaking to the camera in English (either a spontaneous introduction of yourself or a short monologue).
